Kennedy Son: Voters Wanted 'Blood'

The Republican victory for Ted Kennedy's seat proves voters are "out for blood," said the late senator's son. Voters want a "whipping boy" to blame for the lost jobs and foreclosed homes of the economic crisis, said Rhode Island Rep. Patrick Kennedy. "It's like in the Roman times, they'd be trotted out to the coliseum. They're wanting blood, and you can’t blame them. The fact is we inherited this mess and it’s becoming ours.”

Kennedy, 42, also called his fellow Democrats “unorganized,” saying they—meaning candidate Martha Coakley—did a poor sales job, reports Politico. “You gotta make your own mark and sell the policies," he added. "I think the people of Massachusetts are receptive to the Democratic progressive politics, but it has to be sold."
