With the New Year mere hours away, Karl Rove offers up some 2010 resolutions for the White House in the Wall Street Journal. They go a little something like this:

  • Barack Obama should worry less about making everyone think he agrees with them, and more about meaning what he says. “He didn’t last year with all those health care deadlines and tough talk about supporting the public option.” Oh, and "A little more grace toward his predecessor would help him."

  • Obama’s staff should resolve to keep the boss out of the limelight more. “He’s wearing out his welcome and his speechwriters.” Besides, how many “historic” moments can you have?
  • Joe Biden likewise should zip it—the West Wing’s just using him to make Obama look better.
  • Janet Napolitano should "take a systems analysis course before she again declares that a system 'worked.' "
  • Desiree Rogers “should take a lead from Santa Clause (sic) and make her list and check it twice… at the White House gates.”
  • Democratic leadership should try bipartisanship, and treat its “pet Blue Dogs” better.
  • As for those Blue Dogs, “why not resolve to become Republicans?”
