Two Michigan State football players are off the team tonight after an incident Sunday in which they and as many as 20 fellow Spartans, many wearing ski masks, stormed a dorm and beat fellow students, including women. “I walked up and said, ‘It isn’t worth it,’” one student tells the campus paper. “A guy with dreadlocks hit me and in the scuffle slapped, hit females to get them out of the way.”

“There was some medic treating this kid sitting in lounge area,” another student told the State News. “It looked like he had a baseball in his cheek.” Coach Mark Dantonio would say only that junior defensive back Roderick Jenrette and sophomore running back Glenn Winston had violated team rules in announcing their dismissal; a spokesman tells the Lansing State Journal that the investigation continues.
