Health Bill Will Speed Swing Back to GOP

This week's election results spell out a trend that should scare Democrats in both red and blue states, warns Karl Rove. Suburban and independent voters turned away from the party at a rate that would have easily put John McCain into the White House last year, and the health bill Nancy Pelosi wants to vote on this week looks set to speed the swing and doom many Democrats next year, Rove writes in the Wall Street Journal.

Nearly every page of the bill contains "a landmine that could explode on Democrats," writes Rove, who predicts that the bill will cost far more than advertised and hit voters with huge amounts of new taxes. "Tuesday's results were the first sign that voters are revolting against runaway spending and government expansion," Rove concludes.
