A leaked training document urging India's cricket team to seek sexual release—either with their wives or by "going solo"—before big games has sparked both outrage and sniggers across India. With sex education banned in Indian schools, many commentators have welcomed the opportunity to speak more frankly than usual about taboo topics like masturbation, notes Jason Overdorf at GlobalPost.
"Having sex increased testosterone levels, which causes an increase in strength, energy, aggression, and competitiveness," reads the manual, which India's cricket coach, South African Gary Kirsten, says he had nothing to do with. The Mumbai-based Daily News & Analysis, however, thanked Kirsten "for making public a subject we usually like to keep under wraps—sex." India's cricket players have been staying strictly silent on the subject. (More India stories.)
