Julia Roberts Flick Bars Indian Worshippers From Temple

She may be America’s sweetheart, but villagers in India are not feeling the love for Julia Roberts after the actress caused them to be barred from their temple—at the beginning of a religious celebration, no less, the Telegraph reports. Ironically, Roberts—and her 350-member security team, derided in India as “presidential”—was there filming Eat, Pray, Love, in which her character tries to find herself in Hindu spirituality.

“I am going to barge in for the evening aarti (ritual). Let's see who stops me,” said one villager. Another added, “Only those who could manage to sneak in did so but most of us were all sent back. It's Navratras and we must not be stopped from visiting a temple.” (More Julia Roberts stories.)
