Joe “You Lie” Wilson is hoping to cash in on his newfound notoriety. “I let my emotions get the best of me,” the Republican representative confesses in a new YouTube video, noting that he’s already apologized to Barack Obama. But he goes on to condemn reform proponents and “the liberals who want to give health care to illegals,” for attempting to “silence anyone who speaks out against” health care reform.

He then proceeds to ask viewers to go to his website and “contribute to my effort to defeat the proponents of government-run health care.” Maybe he’s hoping to match his Democratic challenger, Rob Miller, who has raised more than $350,000 since Wilson’s outburst. (More Joe Wilson stories.)
