It’s been five entire days since Sarah Palin ceased being an elected official, and her fans are restless, the AP reports. “Sarah can you give us just a hint!” pleaded one Facebook follower. Said another: “Sarah, our country really NEEDS YOU NOW!!!” Palin promised to launch her next chapter on social networking sites, but so far the world hasn’t heard a tweet from her.

“10 dys til less politically correct twitters fly frm my fingertps outside State site,” Palin promised on July 17. But since her resignation, the only news from Citizen Palin has been the cancellation of her first post-gubernatorial speaking engagement. “If she waits too long, people will move on,” one supporter wrote on Conservatives4Palin.com. Another countered, “Sarah can’t even go 4 days without tweeting? I think she’s smart to go ‘dark’ for a while.” (More Sarah Palin stories.)
