Kelly Clarkson is battling her record label again, this time for releasing a song that appears to copy the Beyoncé single “Halo,” the New York Post reports. When Clarkson realized that the backing track songwriter Ryan Tedder had given her for “Already Gone” was the same as the one on “Halo,” she “fought and fought” to stop her version from being released, she told Canada’s CBC radio network—but to no avail.

“In the end, they’re releasing it without my consent,” says Clarkson, who said she didn’t realize the snafu until she heard “Halo” recently. She says she asked Tedder, “I don’t understand. Why would you do that? No one’s gonna be sittin’ at home, thinking ‘Man, Ryan Tedder gave Beyoncé and Kelly the same track to write to.’ No, they're just gonna be saying I ripped someone off.” (More Kelly Clarkson stories.)
