Police in Marseilles have launched a manslaughter investigation into the Madonna stage collapse that killed two and injured ten others, the Times of London reports. Police plan to question dozens of witnesses, analyze videotape, and read over commercial contracts. The company that built the stage—and constructed a Madonna stage that collapsed in Los Angeles last November—has sent two reps to the scene, TMZ reports.

"At present it would not be appropriate to speculate on potential causes of the accident, but we are working closely with the French authorities to investigate what caused this incident," the stage-building company, E S Group, said in a statement. "There is absolutely no technical or other connection between the incident at the Dodgers Stadium in November 2008 and the tragic accident yesterday." (More Madonna stories.)
