Steve Jobs had a liver transplant in Tennessee about 2 months ago, the Wall Street Journal reports. The Apple boss, who has been on medical leave since January for an undisclosed medical condition, is recovering well and is expected to return to work later this month. Jobs will likely "work part-time for a month or two," says one insider.

The details of the surgery are unclear, but the rare form of pancreatic cancer Jobs survived in 2004 often metastasizes in the liver, one specialist tells the Journal. Jobs declined to comment on the surgery. "Steve continues to look forward to returning at the end of June, and there's nothing further to say," said a spokeswoman at Apple, where some board members are briefed weekly on the CEO's condition.
