Bill Clinton has quietly jumped into the 2010 election fray, helping just about anyone who was loyal to his wife’s presidential campaign, Politico reports. Though the media has focused mostly on his full-throated support for Terry McAuliffe’s failed gubernatorial run, Clinton has held events for half a dozen aspiring and successful lawmakers. Seemingly no request is too small—he even endorsed a 23-year-old Hillary campaign volunteer’s primary campaign for a Virginia House seat.

“One nice thing about the Clintons: when you work for them, there’s a bond there and they always want to keep it,” said the mayor of Scranton. “I called and asked him, would you do a robocall for me? And he said, sure, glad to do it.” The only loyalist left out in the cold: Joe Sestak. Backing Sestak’s primary challenge to Arlen Specter would put Clinton in conflict with an even fiercer Clinton ally, Ed Rendell. (More Bill Clinton stories.)
