Boy Can Stay With Parents After They Agree to Chemo

A judge in Minnesota allowed 13-year-old Daniel Hauser to return to his parents' custody after they agreed to have him undergo chemotherapy treatments, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The judge allowed the family to pursue alternative remedies along with the chemo for Daniel, who has Hodgkin's lymphoma. The boy and his mom fled to California last week before returning yesterday.

The boy's attorney says Daniel himself agreed to the chemotherapy "one round at a time and wants to be consulted before and after.” A county attorney said he's "concerned that if Daniel doesn’t like the second round of chemo, he’s not going to go do it. He’s going to run away and we’ll be right back where we are.”
