Face Transplant Patient Forgives Shooter

The woman who had the nation's first face transplant still thinks about how she looked before her husband shot her in a failed murder-suicide attempt in 2004—but she forgives him, she said in an interview today with Good Morning America. It was the smell of soap that made Connie Culp realize her new face was working, she said; she now feels great walking down the street.

But she also offered a warning to other women. "If your husband threatens you in any way, it's going to get worse. If somebody points something at you and they say they're going to do it, eventually they're going to do it." (More face transplant stories.)
