The fiancée of accused Craigslist killer Philip Markoff plans to support him throughout his trial, ABC News reports. Meghan McAllister—breaking a weeklong silence—said the man the media has portrayed is not the "loving and caring person" she and her family know, and that people should remember Markoff is innocent until proven guilty. McAllister plans to cooperate with Markoff's lawyers and with prosecutors.

"I can only tell them what I know and what is the truth," she said. Her dad said earlier that Markoff's arrest has been grueling for her family. "Megan is not doing so well; it's a very tense situation," he said. A band member scheduled to play at the upcoming Markoff-McAllister summer wedding has been told the gig is off. Markoff has been taken off suicide watch, but remains "extremely withdrawn," according to sources.
