Palin Accused of Conflict of Interest

Yet another ethics complaint was filed against Sarah Palin yesterday, alleging that the governor’s extracurricular excursions on behalf of SarahPAC pose a conflict of interest. The complaint, filed by an Anchorage mother and advocate for children with disabilities, says Palin left the state at a crucial time—the end of the legislative session—to attend SarahPAC events for her own personal interests, the Anchorage Daily News reports.

“The recent partisan trip to Indiana had no benefits for the State of Alaska,” the complaint reads, alleging that Palin has a de facto “contract” with SarahPAC to work for its interests, even if they don’t match Alaska’s. A spokesman for Palin dismissed the complaint as part of “an orchestrated efforts to make differences of opinion almost criminal.” Palin and her aides have been hit with about a dozen other ethics complaints.
