Susan Boyle, Britain’s Got Talent contestant and Internet sensation, has been the subject of one hot debate: Makeover or no makeover? The makeover process has already begun, Deadline reports—Boyle appeared recently in a trendy dress and leather jacket. “It wasn’t until I saw myself on TV that I realized how frumpy I was,” says Boyle, who also visited a hairdresser for advice. Elsewhere:

  • Simon Cowell has been contemplating his future on American Idol—and would “absolutely not” stay if the show slipped to No. 2 in the ratings. “Being No. 1 is verging on an obsession with me,” he tells the Hollywood Reporter.
  • Fellow judge Paula Abdul’s contract is up this season, the AP reports, but she'll tell Nightline tomorrow, “I don't think anyone” can replace her.
  • The last original Idol judge, Randy Jackson, got his own share of press today after reports that Condoleezza Rice requested a private sit-down with him last month. The married Jackson “was sort of mystified” at the request, a source tells Us, “but he went.”
  • MTV found someone who can identify with Chris Brown: Mike Tyson. “I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids,” Tyson says. “He's just a little baby that don't know how to handle his emotions.”
