Insiders: Jobs Still Steering Apple From Home

Steve Jobs is keeping a firm grip on the goings-on at Apple despite being on medical leave, sources tell the Wall Street Journal. The chief executive's stand-in, Tim Cook, is handling the day-to-day running of the firm, but Jobs has been working on strategies and products from home, especially the user interface of the iPhone's recently released new operating system.

He's also engaged in development of future projects, which insiders say include new iPhone models and a device somewhere between a laptop and an iPhone or iPod Touch.
Life at Apple headquarters remains much the same as before, according to employees and business partners; the firm is weathering the recession well, and Jobs is still expected to return at the end of June as planned.
