President Obama told a European audience today that he’s set sights on "a world without nuclear weapons,” the AP reports. Obama opened a town-hall meeting in France with the declaration, saying he would outline details in Prague in the coming days. "The spread of nuclear weapons or the theft of nuclear material could lead to the extermination of any city on the planet," Obama said.

Obama said the United States shares blame for global money woes, but "every nation bears responsibility for what lies ahead." In Europe to “renew our partnership,” he said that “America is changing” but that it can’t be the only one to change. He acknowledged that the US has “shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” regarding Europe—but noted that a European anti-American attitude that can be insidious and unfair.
