Morning drive-time radio could be the future for Rod Blagojevich, if the impeached Illinois’ governor’s fill-in stint today on Chicago’s WLS-AM is anything to go by, Jimmy Orr writes in live-blogging the show for the Christian Science Monitor. Amid Elvis theme music and complaints about his successor’s proposed tax hike, the “natural radio host” responded to jokes about his hair and the book he’s writing.

Staffers teased Blagojevich about his haircut and reputation for vanity. He brought his hairbrush, he said, but added, “I’m not governor anymore, it is a smaller brush.” In terms of setting the record straight, Blagojevich hasn’t gotten far on his book—three pages, he says—but he is lawyering up. According to the Chicago Tribune, he’s hired Terence Gillespie, a veteran defense lawyer. (More Rod Blagojevich stories.)
