The American student charged with the murder of her roommate in Italy is starring in a jailhouse movie. Amanda Knox, 21, begged the director of The Last City for a role in his city-funded flick about prisoner rehabilitation, the Mirror reports. The 47-minute movie, which includes scenes from Shakespearean plays, was to be shown this weekend at a film festival.

But organizers shelved it because the screening comes just weeks before the start of Knox’s trial. The director said the Seattle native, dubbed "Foxy Knoxy" by the British tabs, “was very disciplined, diligent, and good.” Countered an Italian official, “Knox has been made out to be some sort of star instead of what she is: a young woman accused of a horrendous crime.”
