McCready to Clemens' Wife: Sorry
"I repeat once again, it simply did not happen," former New York Yankees star Roger Clemens said of the affair with Mindy McCready. "That is all I am going to say about the matter."   (Getty Images)

Country singer Mindy McCready apologized to Roger Clemens’ wife for carrying on an affair with the baseball great, the New York Daily News reports. “I was young,” McCready said. “I now know better.” The singer denied rumors she wanted to marry Clemens, saying, “I wanted him to do right by his family.” Clemens again denied the two were ever involved.

“I have nothing but remorse and sympathy for what she’s had to go through with this situation, and she has my utmost apology,” McCready said of Debbie Clemens. “He should have just told Debbie and been honest with her. If he didn’t want to be with her and wanted to be with me, he should have told her.” (More Mindy McCready stories.)
