The actress who played the nation's perky darling Marcia in the wholesome Brady Bunch TV family once traded sex for drugs during years in the abyss of depression and drug addiction, reports E! Online. Maureen McCormick, now 52, reveals her very un-Brady life in her new memoir, Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice.
McCormick came to the show wracked with anxiety at the age of 14 from an abusive family, and slipped into a steamy affair with her TV brother Barry Williams. "Few people are everything they present to the outside world," McCormick writes. "There I was, hiding the reality of my life behind the unreal perfection of Marcia Brady. No one suspected the fear that gnawed at me even as I lent my voice to the chorus of Bradys singing It's a Sunshine Day.
