Colt won't get chance to run against Curlin in Breeders' Cup

Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown injured his right front foot during a workout this morning in New York and will immediately be retired to stud, the Blood-Horse reports. The bay colt's retirement means he'll miss his eagerly awaited faceoff with Curlin in the Oct. 25 Breeders' Cup Classic. "We did everything we could to get to the Breeders' Cup," said co-owner Michael Iavarone. "It's devastating."
