For the first time in 40 years, horns won’t blow at a University of Wisconsin football game tonight: The marching band’s been suspended for alleged hazing, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. The school hasn't disclosed details, but the band director said alcohol and “inappropriate sexual behavior” were involved. “The allegations were serious enough that there needed to be some action right away,” he said.

The Badgers play Ohio State tonight in a nationally televised game. School officials will use canned music, videos, and other material to fill the pre-game, half-time, and the post-game vacuum. "We really can't replace what our marching band brings to the table," one school official said. "We're not going to try." (More University of Wisconsin stories.)
