—and the Anchorage Daily News greeted the announcement with an update on Palin’s “troopergate” scandal.
The Daily News also called Palin a “total beginner,” while a columnist at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner said that though he admires Palin, she’s ‘in no way” qualified. It’s not just journalists, either; state Republicans ripped the pick. Asked to name Palin’s qualifications, the Republican speaker of the House replied, “She’s old enough.
