Diddy's Alleged Drug Mule Reaches Deal With Prosecutors

A man accused of acting as a drug mule for rapper Diddy has entered a drug diversion program in the hope of avoiding jail time. Brendan Paul, 25, who previously worked as Diddy's main assistant, was arrested at a Miami airport on March 27, around the same time federal authorities raided Diddy's properties in Miami and Los Angeles as part of a human trafficking investigation, TMZ reports. Authorities had allegedly found cocaine and marijuana in Paul's luggage. His lawyer now says Paul has "accepted the prosecutor's offer" to enroll in a six-month drug diversion program. "After completion, the case against him will be dismissed in its entirety," the attorney tells TMZ.

Paul is named in one of several sexual assault lawsuits filed against Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs. Combs' former producer and videographer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones describes Paul as a "mule" who "acquires" and "distributes" Combs' "drugs and guns," per People. Paul was arrested while traveling with the rapper, NewsNation reports. He pleaded not guilty to one federal count of drug possession last month. Another hearing had been scheduled for Friday before the agreement was announced.

Authorities have said little about the probe into Combs' dealings, though it reportedly involves potential witness intimidation, sexual assault, and firearms violations. In one civil suit, a woman claims the rapper trafficked and raped her when she was 17 and later used footage of the attack as "revenge porn" when she was a student at Syracuse University, per NewsNation.
