Another story of crime in the New York subway, this one with a particularly grim outcome: Police say a Saturday morning argument between a woman and her boyfriend ended with the woman behind pushed onto the subway tracks. NBC News reports she was hit by a train, and sources say the 29-year-old survived but had to have both her feet amputated. The incident happened around 10:30am at the Fulton Street Station at Chambers Street in the Financial District.

ABC News reports the woman is in stable condition. The boyfriend reportedly fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. Days earlier, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced New York National Guard troops would be deployed into the subway system amid a spate of violent crimes. (More New York City subway stories.)
