Four years after a racist tweet got her fired from ABC's reboot of Roseanne, Roseanne Barr is apparently ready for a comeback attempt. The Fox Nation streaming service says the 69-year-old will appear in an hourlong comedy special, A Roseanne Comedy Special, which is expected to debut in the first quarter of next year, Variety reports. "Roseanne is a comedy icon whose humor connects with the American audience like no other," Fox Nation president Jason Klarman said. "Her ability to channel the challenges of everyday people and find the humor in it all has earned her the passionate following of millions of dedicated fans."

This will be Barr's first stand-up comedy special in 16 years, reports Rolling Stone. Fox says the special, Fox Nation's first stand-up program, will feature Barr's "signature comedic take on a variety of topics, with no subject off limits," per People. After Barr's firing—which she blamed on co-star Sara Gilbert and her support for Israel, among other things—her character was killed off but the show lived on as The Conners. Its fifth season debuts this week. (In 2019, Barr described MeToo accusers as "hos.")
