Update: Vice President Kamala Harris will return to work in the White House on Tuesday, an aide said, after testing negative for the coronavirus. Harris had been working at home, in isolation at her residence, after positive test results last Tuesday. For her first five days back at the White House, she'll wear a "well-fitting mask" when she's around other people, CNN reports. Harris, who received the negative test results Monday, did not develop COVID-19 symptoms, officials said. She's been taking the antiviral coronavirus treatment Paxlovid, which requires a prescription and is available through an FDA emergency use authorization, White House officials said. Our original story from April 26 follows:

Add Kamala Harris' name to the list of DC bigwigs who have tested positive for COVID-19. Like them, the vice president appears to be fine. The White House said Harris tested positive Tuesday through both a rapid test and a more comprehensive PCR test, reports the AP. The 57-year-old Harris, who received her COVID booster shot in October, has no symptoms and will isolate at home. The White House made a point to say that Harris has not been in close contact with President Biden in recent days and that she will not return to the White House until she tests negative. Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, tested positive in March, notes Axios. (More Kamala Harris stories.)
