A Maryland man on his way to Christmas Eve dinner was shot to death in front of his three children and girlfriend in what police said might have been a case of road rage. Daniel Kelly Jr., 30, of Clinton was behind the wheel when he was shot multiple times Friday afternoon, WTOP reports. His girlfriend and children were not injured. "This is an absolutely heartbreaking loss for Mr. Kelly's family and friends," a Prince George’s County Police official said.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates "the suspect's vehicle pulled up next to Kelly's SUV, and someone inside opened fire," per WRC. It happened on a heavily traveled road in Temple Hills, said police, who are hoping witnesses will come forward. A reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment is being offered. "You can stay anonymous," Acting Maj. David Blaze said. "We are committed to providing answers to his family." Tips can be left anonymously at pgcrimesolvers.com. (More fatal shooting stories.)
