A New Jersey man accused of beating his daughter to death with a baseball bat and critically injuring his wife in the same attack has been found dead following a manhunt. Gregory Keleman, 57, who was found Tuesday in a wooded area about a mile from the family's home in Vorhees Township, appears to have died by suicide, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. Authorities had been searching for Keleman since early Monday, when his wife called 911 around 6:50am, per the Cherry Hill Courier-Post.

Sheri Kelemen, 57, told authorities that her husband was asleep when she went to bed around 2am. She said she awoke hours later when he started beating her with a bat that he normally kept under the bed, saying "I can't take it anymore," per NBC Philadelphia. She said she was able to crawl to the bedroom of the couple's daughter, 22-year-old Katherine Kelemen, only to find her unresponsive and covered in blood. The Temple University junior was pronounced dead at a hospital at 8:17am, while Sheri was hospitalized in critical but stable condition with injuries to her head and hands, per the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Meanwhile, authorities searched for Gregory Kelemen in anticipation of charges of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder. He and his vehicle were missing from the home when officers arrived. He reportedly called his employer around 10:10am Monday to say he'd be late to work because of a family emergency, but he never appeared. His body was found with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 11:30am Tuesday, the prosecutor's office said. A neighbor tells the Inquirer that Gregory was a nice man who'd griped Saturday about cleaning up leaves. "Next thing you know, Monday, it's a horror movie," the neighbor adds.
