Kate McCann, the mother of missing British girl Madeleine McCann, holds her daughter teddy bear and a child's book as she arrives at the Our Lady of Light church for a mass in Praia da Luz, southern Portugal, Sunday, June 3 2007. Police are following a disturbing tip that may link the kidnapping of Madeleine McCann to two girls murdered last year. A Dutch newspaper has received an anonymous letter, accompanied by a map marked with crosses, claiming Madeleine is buried in a rocky area near the Portuguese resort where she disappeared from her hotel room six weeks ago during a family vacation.

The tip is being taken seriously because the anonymous letter resembles one received by the same newspaper a year ago which led police to the buried bodies of two murdered Belgian girls, the Guardian reports. Police believe at least one man responsible for those murders is still at large; one is under arrest. (More Madeleine McCann stories.)
