Gone Girl and Cocktail actor Lisa Banes remained hospitalized in critical condition Saturday night after being injured in a hit-and-run accident in New York City, her manager said. Banes, 65, was struck by either a scooter or a motorcycle in the Upper West Side of Manhattan near Lincoln Center on Friday evening as she was crossing Amsterdam Avenue on the way to visit the Julliard School, her alma mater, manager David Williams said in an email to the AP. In an emailed statement to Variety, the NYPD said this: "Upon arrival, officers observed a 65-year-old female pedestrian lying on the roadway with severe head trauma. EMS responded to the location."

Williams said Banes was being treated at Mount Sinai Morningside hospital for "substantial injuries." Variety cites a rep for Banes as saying the driver who hit her ran a red light before doing so, and the New York Daily News reports Banes was in a crosswalk when she was hit with such force that witnesses describe her as flying out of the crosswalk. No arrests have been made. The New York Post reports the Los Angeles resident was back in the city for the first time since the start of the pandemic when the incident occurred. It describes her as "fighting for her life." Banes has appeared in numerous television shows and movies, including supporting roles in Gone Girl starring Ben Affleck in 2014 and Cocktail with Tom Cruise in 1988. On television, she's had roles on Nashville, the King of Queens, Madam Secretary, and NCIS.
