Now that 4 million people know intimate details of her marital problems—at least her side of the story—New York magazine sends Phoebe Eaton to size up the YouTube divorcée in person. Tricia Walsh-Smith, flamboyant actress, sometime playwright, and wife of a theater operator 25 years her senior, posted a series of videos skewering her husband, dishing about their sex life (or lack of same), and complaining about a miserly pre-nup.
The British-born star of TV commercials unloads her romantic history, financial ups and downs, near-misses in getting plays produced. Another theater owner calls her "probably the most narcissistic and self-involved person I have ever met in the business." But Walsh-Smith dismisses her detractors. “They were always kind of saying I was trash,” she tells Eaton. “But do they say that about Eugene O’Neill?” (More Tricia Walsh-Smith stories.)
