Surly supermodel Naomi Campbell was officially charged today with assaulting a police officer, reports the Daily Mail, dating back to an April incident at Heathrow Airport in which she was hauled screaming and spitting from a British Airways jet after a dispute over baggage. The cantankerous catwalker—also slapped with disorderly conduct and use of threatening words—could face up to 6 months if convicted.

"Miss Campbell is bitterly disappointed that the prosecutors have advised her she is to be prosecuted for various offenses," her lawyer said in a statement. "She respects that decision and she hopes this matter is dealt with expeditiously." (Read more Naomi Campbell stories.)
