William Bynum Jr., president of Jackson State University, has resigned after being arrested in a prostitution sting over the weekend. Mississippi state trustees met Monday to discuss choosing an interim leader. Bynum is charged with procuring the services of a prostitute, false statement of identity and possession of marijuana. He held the president's job for less than three years, CNN reports.

Bynum, 57, was arrested at a hotel in Clinton. Police said they made contact with the suspects through "dark web" sites online and agreed to meet them at the hotel, per USA Today. Bynum, who posted $3,000 bond, was one of 17 people arrested in the two-day operation. (More prostitution stories.)
