Sarandon-Robbins, Byrne-Barkin offspring take the stage

The indie music scene abounds with newcomers, but few have the A-list relations the Ellis Unit does. The group includes the 18-year-old son of Gabriel Byrne and Ellen Barkin and Rolling Stone co-founder Jann Wenner's 17-year-old son. Gus Wenner has jammed with Bob Dylan, and his connections have landed his band the services of a famed talent booker, reports W.

You can also can check out Chief, fronted by the 20-year-old son of CBS CEO Les Moonves, or the Tangents, whose lead singer is the 16-year-old son of Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. “All the mothers are really close,” says Sarandon, who goes to most of her son's gigs. “I think it’s a great outlet."
