Taylor Swift was talking politics when she raised her left hand, and bang—that's the story. Seems the singer is wearing an engagement ring in her new Netflix documentary, Miss Americana, with Cosmopolitan calling it a "massive diamond ring" and In Style a "pear-shaped sparkler." Since Swift released her Lover album in August, rumors have been circulating that she might be engaged to boyfriend Joe Alwyn, and she's seen mouthing "I love you" to him in the doc. Certain lyrics also resemble wedding vows, like "I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover" and "My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue."

But she seems to downplay it on camera, saying "there's part of me that feels like I'm 57 years old, but there's part of me that’s definitely not ready to have kids and definitely not ready for all that grown up stuff. I kind of don't really have the luxury of figuring stuff out, though, because my life is planned two years ahead of time. Literally, in two months, they'll come at me with dates for the next tour." When her ring is revealed in the doc, she's talking about her decision to publicly criticize GOP Senator-elect Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Swift's home state. "I want to be on the right side of history," the singer says, stressing her point with a hand gesture that positively sparkled. (More Taylor Swift stories.)
