There's Just One Conservative Voice Left on the View

Abby Huntsman is exiting The View, leaving Meghan McCain as the sole conservative voice on the ABC News' daytime talk show. "This is always such a hard thing to do… but today I’m saying goodbye," Huntsman, who's been on the show a year and a half and whose final day is Friday, said at the opening of Monday's show. "My No. 1 priority has always been my family," she continued, and in this case that means her father, Jon Huntsman. She's leaving the show to help run his campaign for governor of Utah, Fox News reports. A memo from the show's executive producers also notes Huntsman will be "spend[ing] more time with her young family."

Huntsman, 33, who has a daughter born in 2017 and boy-girl twins born last year, will be senior adviser to the campaign as her father runs for the job he last held from 2005 to 2009, when he left in the middle of his second term to serve in the Obama administration as ambassador to China. He ran for president in 2012, and last year ended a two-year stint in the Trump administration working as ambassador to Russia. "When you take a step back and you think about life, think about your kids, think about what you want to do every day that just gets you going, and there's no one I believe in more than my own dad right now to run for politics and I get emotional because I do love him so much," Huntsman said in her announcement, per ABC.
