The Georgia man accused of slapping a reporter's butt as she covered a race on live TV is trying to explain. In his first interview since the incident, Tommy Callaway, 43, tells Inside Edition he planned to wave at the TV camera as he ran by during Saturday's Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run, but he got "caught up in the moment." The married father of two continued: "There was a misjudge in character and decision-making. I touched her back. I did not know exactly where I touched her. ... I just kept on running, and if I did see her facial reaction, I would have been embarrassed. I'd have felt ashamed, and I would have stopped, turned around and went back and apologized to her."

Reporter Alex Bozarjian called him out on Twitter before his identity became public, and the incident went viral. On CBS This Morning Tuesday, Bozarjian said she's filed a police report and supports criminal charges being filed against Callaway. "It's not OK to help yourself to a woman's body just because you feel like it," she said. "It's not playful. He hurt me, both physically and emotionally. ... He took my power and I’m trying to take that back. ... He helped himself to a part of my body." In a statement to CBS, Callaway's lawyer says he acted "out of character" and that they do not expect criminal charges to be filed, but Savannah police confirm to the New York Post an investigation has been launched.
