It's clear people are interested in Billie Eilish: Her debut studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, notched two Grammy nominations and became the most-played album of 2019 on both Spotify and Apple Music. That fascination with the 17-year-old singer (she'll turn 18 later this month) has now also led to an impending $25 million deal with Apple TV Plus for an already-completed documentary on her, directed by RJ Cutler and produced by her Interscope label, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. That could lead to a "massive payday" for Eilish, per THR, which says the movie reportedly cost $2 million at most to make.

A source confirms an impending deal to Variety but says the financials reported by THR are "wrong"; the source wouldn't elaborate on what the supposedly correct figures are. THR reports Cutler was given "deep access" to the young musician, including private moments with relatives and behind-the-scenes peeks during her public showings. A source tells Variety Cutler may have been shadowing Eilish as far back as 2016. Both outlets note the project will appear not on Apple Music in 2020, but on Apple TV Plus, which Variety says "may indicate an attempt at synergy between the company's distinct streaming offerings." (Here are Spotify's top streamed songs of the decade.)
