Gordon Sondland has retrieved lost memories yet again—this time thanks to a rapper whose work includes songs like "Wassup" and "Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2," Slate reports. Testifying Wednesday on Capitol Hill, the US ambassador to the European Union mentioned a July 26 phone call he had with President Trump, saying, "I think we primarily discussed ASAP Rocky." Asked by Democratic counsel Daniel Goldman why he hadn't mentioned the July call in earlier impeachment testimony, Sondland said, "What triggered my memory was someone's reference to ASAP Rocky." Said Goldman: "That's one way memory works."

Seems Sondland brought up the July 26 call because David Holmes, a US diplomat working in Ukraine, had told Congress he overheard the call—which included mentions of ASAP Rocky and a possible Ukrainian probe into Joe and Hunter Biden. Holmes also heard Sondland assuring Trump that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would pursue the probe because Zelensky "loves your ass." NBC News notes that Sondland smiled over that, saying it "sounds like something I would say. That's how President Trump and I communicate. A lot of four-letter words. In this case, three-letter." Why ASAP Rocky? He was up on assault charges in Sweden, which Trump lobbied against. (Sondland had another surprise recollection during impeachment proceedings.)
