Video captured a Florida school resource deputy intervening in a fight between two teenagers in Orlando—grabbing one girl by the headscarf and pulling her head back as he did so. The deputy, who was fired after the Thursday incident, was assisting a sheriff's deputy who had responded to a call about the fight in the parking lot of an apartment complex near Westridge Middle School, where the two girls involved are students. "You're the one who started this s--- in school. You're the one who started this s--- all day today anyway," the former school resource officer can be heard saying, per CNN. "I'm tired of this s---."

He can be seen directing the screaming girl toward a squad car, with her arm twisted behind her back, and threatening an angry gathering crowd with his baton as he does so, NBC News reports. "This is because you're silly. You're all stupid little children! Stupid little children is what you are!" he can be heard saying after he puts the girl into the car. The Orange County sheriff terminated the deputy, who had joined the department in February, after reviewing social media and body cam footage. "There's no doubt that his actions were excessive," the sheriff says. "I am extremely upset, disappointed and outraged by the conduct of our deputy sheriff in this instance. I want the community to know that this type of behavior is not going to be tolerated at the Orange County Sheriff's Office." The case will be sent to the state attorney's office.
