A pedestrian struck by a car lay in a Los Angeles street while dozens of vehicles just drove around him, until someone finally stopped to help. Neri Ramires Chalo, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene, ABC News reports. Police suspect he was hit during a street race Friday night. Video shows Chalo starting to run while crossing the street as two cars neared, police said, going more than 60mph in a 40mph zone on Sepulveda Boulevard. Chalo got out of the first car's way but was hit by the second. "The force of the collision propelled him down the roadway," a detective said.

The drivers of both cars fled. The video shows some cars slowing down as they passed, and others changing lanes to avoid Chalo's body. No arrests have been made, but police think they know the identity of the driver whose car hit Chalo and are looking for him. "We want his side of the story," the detective said.
