Bernie Sanders said at Tuesday night's Democratic debate that he will be joined by a "special guest" at his "Bernie's Back" rally in Queens on Saturday. Anybody expecting Paul Simon will be disappointed: Sources tell the Washington Post that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will appear at the rally and endorse Sanders. Another member of the "Squad" of freshman liberal lawmakers, Rep. Ilhan Omar, endorsed Sanders on Tuesday night, Politico reports. "Bernie is leading a working class movement to defeat Donald Trump that transcends generation, ethnicity, and geography," she said. Elizabeth Warren had been vying with Sanders for the endorsement of the influential Ocasio-Cortez, who volunteered on Sanders' 2016 campaign. (More Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stories.)
