Sad news for House Hunters fans: Suzanne Whang, who hosted the show for nearly 10 years, died Tuesday after a long fight with breast cancer. The 56-year-old's partner, Jeff Vezain, was with her in Los Angeles when she passed, TMZ reports. "For thirteen years she confronted cancer with courage, humor, determination and optimism," he wrote on Facebook. "She was immensely encouraged by the love of her family, friends and those she had yet to meet." She also played a recurring role on the show Las Vegas and worked as a minister, radio host, producer, political activist, and published author, per CBS Los Angeles.
The multi-hyphenate also had two psychology degrees—a bachelor's at Yale University and a master's at Brown University—and scored supporting roles on series including Criminal Minds, General Hospital, and Dexter, per E! Online. And she's the author of Suzanne Whang's Guide to Happy Home Buying. Not surprisingly, she wanted her life celebrated rather than her passing mourned, says Vezain. "But I also know how vehemently she disagreed with anyone being told, 'Don't cry,'" he writes on Facebook. "So … cry if you will. I've been crying a LOT! And laughing … and everything in between."
