Hillary Clinton's controversial emails are the subject of a new art exhibit, and none other than Clinton herself spent an hour at the exhibit reading them Tuesday. HILLARY: The Hillary Clinton Emails, by artist and poet Kenneth Goldsmith, features all the emails that WikiLeaks reported were sent from the private server clintonemail.com between 2009 and 2013, a total of 62,000 printed pages, stacked on a desk at Despar Teatro Italia in Venice, Italy. Clinton sat at that desk—a replica of the Oval Office's Resolute Desk, per Mashable—to flip through them. "Someone close to Mrs. Clinton contacted us very informally a few days before her visit. We realized that it wasn’t a joke only when we saw the security service inside the exhibition space at 9am on Tuesday," Goldsmith and the curator tell the Huffington Post.

Goldsmith tweeted after the visit, "Mrs Clinton stated, 'This exhibition is further proof that nothing wrong or controversial can be found on these emails. It makes them accessible to everyone and allows everyone to read them'. And then, as an aside, she added: 'They are just so boring'." The sentiment underscores his own description of the exhibit, which notes, "The pile of papers is rather unimpressive, rebutting Trump’s efforts to make them monumental" during the 2016 presidential race. Clinton herself made a joke when tweeting a photo of herself at the exhibit: "Found my emails at the Venice Biennale. Someone alert the House GOP." As for other visitors to the exhibit at the time, the curator notes, "I think the scene was so extraordinary that many customers believed that she was just a lookalike at first."
