Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas, and Michael Jordan says he, too, is "devastated" when he looks at the destruction. The former NBA great has a personal link to the islands, "where I own property and visit frequently," he says in a statement obtained by TMZ. And so he's decided to donate $1 million to hurricane relief efforts there, and promises to "[track] the situation closely and [work] to identify non-profit agencies where the funds will have the most impact." At least 50 people were killed in the hurricane, but thousands remain missing. Other stars who are helping out include Tyler Perry, who sent his private plane to the Bahamas packed with relief supplies, and Ludacris, who donated $100,000. (More Hurricane Dorian stories.)
