Canada's Former PM Deletes Her Dorian Tweet

Former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell might get her wish, but she's now sorry she even voiced it. On Wednesday, Campbell joked on Twitter that she was "rooting for a direct hit" by Hurricane Dorian on President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. As it turns out, Dorian might actually do that, and now Campbell is apologizing, reports NBC News. "I have deleted my tweet about the hurricane & Mar a Lago and sincerely apologize to all it offended," Campbell wrote Thursday. "It was intended as sarcasm-not a serious wish of harm. Throwaway lines get a life of their own on Twitter. I sh[oul]d know better. Mea culpa."

The initial slam caught the attention of at least one member of the Trump family—Eric Trump called it "classless." Dorian is now a Category 4 storm, but it's still possible the hurricane could deliver more of a "glancing blow" to Florida rather than a catastrophic strike, per the AP.
