Former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell might get her wish, but she's now sorry she even voiced it. On Wednesday, Campbell joked on Twitter that she was "rooting for a direct hit" by Hurricane Dorian on President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. As it turns out, Dorian might actually do that, and now Campbell is apologizing, reports NBC News. "I have deleted my tweet about the hurricane & Mar a Lago and sincerely apologize to all it offended," Campbell wrote Thursday. "It was intended as sarcasm-not a serious wish of harm. Throwaway lines get a life of their own on Twitter. I sh[oul]d know better. Mea culpa."

The initial slam caught the attention of at least one member of the Trump family—Eric Trump called it "classless." Dorian is now a Category 4 storm, but it's still possible the hurricane could deliver more of a "glancing blow" to Florida rather than a catastrophic strike, per the AP. "There is hope," says Weather Underground meteorology director Jeff Masters. It all depends on the path Dorian takes after the Bahamas. (More Hurricane Dorian stories.)
